“Art can impact people on such a soul level – and you’re complete strangers.
It’s incredible that way.”

Shared a deeply meaningful conversation with Emily Palmer for “The Hats We Wear” podcast series, presented by the National Screen Institute of Canada. We discussed the beginning buds of my musical career, what motivates me as an artist and storyteller; and how filmmaking techniques have crossed over into producing music.

“Handle My Whiskey” has been Nominated for Blues Recording of the Year at the 2019 Edmonton Music Awards! Cheers to The Midnight Ramblers on the recording (left to right): Chris Grapel, Warren Chan, Grant Stovel, Septimus Alexander, Graham Guest & Clayton Sample. We recorded on analogue with sound engineer Barry Allen at Homestead Recorders & mastered by Jamie Sitar of Outta Town Sound. The song is from my sophomore Blues album, Wild Rose, which was graciously funded by a Cultural Diversity Grant from the Edmonton Arts Council. 💋

Well Folks, this is probably going to be my last show in Edmonton for awhile. I am positively thrilled to announce that we are SOLD OUT. An immense thanks for all of your support dear Edmontonians. I am glad to have returned to my hometown these past 3 years, and am grateful to have released another Blues album out into the world, but Montréal beckons me to pursue music out East for my next Chapter in life.
This Saturday I will pour as much Soul as I possibly can into that microphone.

Xoxo,
Miss Rae

Miss Rae is moving away to Montreal this spring, and you’ll only have a few chances to catch her live performance in Edmonton! On Saturday, April 6th, bring your sweetheart out for a date to Café Blackbird, where you can enjoy a decadent dinner and then bask in an evening of Blues. Accompanied by the Midnight Ramblers: Clayton Sample (guitar), Grant Stovel (drums), Chris Grapel (upright bass) and Septimus Alexander (saxophone). Tickets are only $15.00, and due to limited seating, we highly encourage you to purchase tickets early on Eventbrite. Miss Rae’s past few shows there have Sold Out well in advance.
